Is he a farmer, a tailor, a teacher, or a developer?
A Chief Technology Officer should be that executive who sets tech strategies.
If he hasn’t been in the game for long it is very difficult staying on top of tech trends and implement software to help the business grow.
So I don’t buy the idea that just anybody should be called to be the CTO, just because he is a co-founder.
Or will you ask a doctor to come and be the Defence Chief of a Nation?
If your CTO is not a developer, you will definitely not learn anything on the job
So investigate before you take that job!
