Chapati Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
3cups all purpose flour
2tspn baking powder
1tspn sugar
1tspn salt
1⅓cup hot water
1Tblspn olive oil
Dried Parsley/Basil
Preparation:
1. Mix flour, salt, sugar, baking powder in a large bowl. Use a wooden spoon to stir in water and olive oil. Mix until a soft, elastic dough forms and add more water, if needed. Knead dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth. Rest the dough for 15mins
2. Divide dough into 12 equal portions, or less if you want larger chapatis. Roll each piece into a ball and let rest for a few 20 minutes.
3. Heat a lightly greased pan over medium heat.
4. Use a rolling pin to roll dough balls out on a lightly floured surface until very thin.
5. When the pan is hot, place a chapati in it. Cook until bottom has brown spots, about 30 seconds, then flip and cook 30 seconds more and sprinkle parsley or basil. Repeat to cook remaining chapatis.
